Summer sales

Before I go mad at the summer sales, I try to prepare myself by deciding what look or style I want to buy. Sharing with you some of my inspirations before I hit the shops...

The pictures are from  www.style.com.  Spring 2013 rtw. The outfits are from Christopher Kane, Chanel and Saint Laurent.

If you have a lot of money you can buy some of these outfits on net-a-porter.com, where they also have summer sales. I'll just have to stick to the high-street in Glasgow (I don't mind at all actually - the shops are great)

Simple fascinator

On YouTube you can find lots of tutorials of how to make a fascinator in all different types and shapes. This is one of my fascinators which is easy to make.

You  need a headband, a piece of vail  (6 cm wide x 50 cm long) and a flower to decorate.

Make the veil round by folding it together and using needle and thin thread. The folds should each be about 2 cm big. Put the needle/thread through the veil (picture) so you have a bit of thread on each side of the veil. Just knot the thread together. Pull the oposite ends together to make a circle.

Put on the flower (mine has a hairclasp attached underneath it) Use the rest of the thread to sew/knot it to the headband.

Girls waistcoat

I have crocheted this for one of my nieces. We both loved the colour of the thread when I started crocheting. But when I was finished and she tried it on it did not look nice at all. So I edged it with fabric from an old scarf.

Everybody love the cute little owls, and you find them anywere thesedays; on clothes like jumpers, dresses, in neclaces, earrings, in different kinds of fabrics, buttons and so on. I have made a few myself....

The pattern for the granny-square owl I found on a great blog called: repeatcrafterme.com
