Updated boater

One of the reasons why I love the classic boaters is because I can easely change them. I can make them in any colour I fancy or......I can change the colour of the ribbon, or adding a brooche to it, and so on. Just had to show you the one of the latest change I made.

A boater with stripes... Now were is my black and white suit?

Bridal hat

I just had to try to make a bridal hat. I started by making a pill-box hat; I cut out padding for the top and the side-bit  and covered it with a beautiful silk fabric (using my sewing-machine). To finish of the hat I hand-sewed it together. What I did wrong you can learn from; The padding I used for the hat made it thick, and it was really difficult to get it nice. I didn't manage this, I hand-sewed it 3 times before I gave up. I am sure you can do a better job.
The back-veil is one long piece - just folded in a special way, an to hold it in place I used a rubber-band, before adding a pearl-bracelet to cover the rubber band. The veil in front is attached to the back of the hat with a few stiches. On top I stiched on the back-veil.

Hairnet

Inspired by a majour French fashion house (hrm..) I made this hairnet. It is croched, and by sewing on sequins it got a touch of glam! If you want to try and make one yourself my tip is to use a thread which is elastic. I used baby wool. I was going to make myself a grey, a pink and a yellow hairnet, but I never seem to have the time.

You must use hairclasps to fasten the net to your head

I think it looks very nice on.

Details -  showing you how simple this is to make..

This is how it looks like underneath

Black boater

I posted earlier on that I was making a black boater, and a green little fury thing to go with it.
Finally I finished the black boater. I have also finished the green hat, and I made an additional white one. They are  supposed to be worn underneath the black boater. Well, we'll see about that.......!
Just now I am happy to put them in the warderobe - and let them stay there until Autumn starts.

In progress.

Finished - I love it!

Pink pill-box

I wanted a pink pill-box hat. So I made one. But the sewing was, well,... not to my satisfactory. So I covered it up with another fabric. I also made a rose and it all ended up like a wedding hat.
