More from new hat collection

Showing you hat number 3 and 4 from the new collection. One of the hats I made out of a wool fabric instead of velvet.

By making an innerhat out of padding you can shape the hat in many different ways.

NEW HAT COLLECTION

Hallo everyone. Finally the first part of my new DIY hat collection is (well, almost) ready.

My inspiration; Giorgio Armani.

Check out Giorgio Armanis  ready-to-wear Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. You will find videos on You tube, www.armani.com and of course  pictures in www.style.com.

I  just love the whole collection. After the colour-clash we've had the last year it feels good to set my  eyes on the calm colours and shades that Armani presents: black, different shades of grey and blue. I think the collection is classic and trendy but the hats makes the whole collection updated and chic.

I must admit I did struggle a bit making the first hat. I finally finished the first one, and quite satisfied with the result, I made another 3 in quite a short time. Looking at Armanis collection on You tube again on Sunday evening,  I suddenly realised that Armanis hats was about one size larger than mine. I was really disapointed, cos the hats looks so great. I imidiatly started working on No. 5. I am still not finished with it - so we'll just have to wait and see.
Nevertheless, after the disapointment had sunk in I realized I do like my (small, daytime) hats and eventhough they're not exactly couture - I like them anyway.
By the way; these hats look good on short or long hair. As I have long hair I can tuck it in the hat  - or not.
So the first two hats I post now is therefore one size smaller than they should be.............

The hat is made of velvet and I have chrocheted bottom and top.  First I chrocheted the bottom, then I handsewed on the velvet (sewing together the velvet side and top bit with the sewingmachine) The chrocheted top part is also stiched on, by hand. To make the hat stay in shape I ended up making an own innerhat.

Electric blue hat

I loved this colour on some fabric and yarn, and I found out I wanted to make a hat using both of them. This is the result. It was quite easy to make. The most difficult part is probably to make it fit your head...

I put filling in before sewing the fabric.

This is what you have to chrochet - or knit

Crocheted pillow

This pillow is specially made for support behind your neck. When you are relaxing in your reclainer chair or on the sofa, put the pillow behind your neck for a more comfortable seat.

Colours, size, pattern ? Use your imaginetion or find one on the internett. Thousands of great patterns just waiting to be made by you. I can recommend www.garnstudio.com . They have lots of great patterns - in many languages.

Pick a pattern of small squares like this and crochet them together. I have made
an  inner-pillow for stuffing.

This is also a popular gift. I have already made 3!

Girls crocheted jacket

This crocheted jacket is made by soft baby wool. I doubled the thread, used crochet needle number 8 and it didn't take a long time to make, 2 - 3 evenings. As usual I didn't have a pattern but used another jumper to measure.

No need to make button holes when you use buttons in this size

From necklace to earrings

One of the colours for Fall 2013 is red. Dolce & Gabbana has some really stunning dresses and coats in red.

Check out the whole Collection in www.style.com or www.dolcegabbana.com/.

Preparing for New season I have found a piece of jewellery which I havn't been using, altough I've always loved the big red stones in this neclace.

I decided that I want to make a pair of earrings, and since I can't wear earrings for pierced ears anymore, I have bought these helpful earclips, which you can clip on earrings for pierced ears. On the little hooks in the front you can attach earrings for pierced ears.

I bought them in an accessorie-shop Glitter in Norway.

After pulling the stones apart from the necklace, I attached two of the stones on the little hooks in the front of the earclip. The result is a pair of big red danglers...and I can change the stones to the other pair which is framed in a way that gives it a  more vintage look.

New season - Fall 2013

Are you ready for the new season? Fall 2013 looks great, with a lot of fab things coming in the shops. Of course the fashion shows from Paris, Milan, London and New York was shown in February and March so I have already made some of this seasons wonderful hats. I am currently working on other ones.

In www.style.com you can find Chanels RTW Fall 2013 Collection.

I am really excited as always when it comes to New Seasons. The colours for this season is a lot of blue. Blue in all different shades from dark navy blue, until light blue, electric blue (and we are still wearing the cobolt blue) and so on. It looks like red is coming in also, I hope we now can wear it not just for Christmas and 17. May.
There is still a lot of black and white, and there is a darker burgundy than we saw last winter. Now it is closer brown than red.
I hope you enjoy preparing for new season. I always go through my old stuff (clothes, shoes, belts jewellery)  to check if I have something I can use, even if it means big/small changes, redesigning and so on. I will keep you posted.
