Chrocheted pillow

This pillow is made with yarn Drops Polaris and I used needle number 12. So this was quickly done, one or two evenings. I was almost finished when I ran out of yarn, so I had to use another colour. I stiched on a chrocheted rose.

Looking at the front I now thought this was awfully boring. So I have been wondering what to do.

I found this (old unfinished Project, hrm.). It did give it a vintage look didn't it?

This is another option. So now I cannot decide which one to stich on!

Update 3 January 2014;

And this is how it ended up like!

Fascinator - Dolce Gabanna style

Dolce Gabanna has some stunning red dresses this fall. Many of us has been drewling over the fab accosseries like the golden crown, the big golden cross-earrings and the gold neclaces. As I am planning to wear a red dress for a Christmas party - I just had to make my own version of the crown and the earrings. This is the result.

Matching earrings

I used part of this necklace, part of a body jewellery and a black Alice band.
I stiched on the red stone to the golden square bit. Some of the chains is also stiched on.

These photos were taken before I was finished stiching them.
Therefore you maybe spot some of the needles?

Knitted beanie hat

This beanie hat you knit in notime. I used double-yarn (Dale Hegre) and knitting pins number 10.  It is chunky and very strechy - so you can knit one to a friend for Christmas without worrying if it fits.

Chrocheted angel wings

Yarn: Dale Lerke and Beo

I love the white angel wings you find in the shops, not only for Christmas - it is more like an all year round decoration. You can make them small or big when you make them yourself. As I didn't have white feathers lying around, I simply chrocheted them.

Chrocheted christmas decorations

Why don't you make your own decorations for the Christmas trea? In Norway everybody is knitting a'la Arne & Carlos Christmas marbles. But I chrocheted mine. I only wish I had time to make 20 white ones. And I would decorate some of them with a little silver....................

Yarn: Cotton like Mandarin Petit, needle number 1,75

I even managed to chrochet a heart

Candle decorations

Today is the first Sunday in Advent. I am not sure what you do in America, Australia or the rest of the world -  but in Norway the tradition is to light one candle on each of the four last Sundays before Christmas eve. So you need four candles. And the colour of Advent is lilac. I have chrocheted my own decoration for the candles. This is very easy. If you need guidelines I will post them under the page Chrochet patterns. I hope you enjoy your Advent time preparing for Christmas.

Choker - Chanel style

I am always cold in winter. Norway can be a pretty cold country to live in at times and we all have put on a lot of warm clothes. But I also have to put on a lot of extra clothes in spring and in the autumn, so adding all those monthes together, I am actually cold most of the year. This is why I have thought a lot of how I can dress in something pretty when it is freezing most of the time.
At work I like to use suits like blazer/jacket or blazer/trousers. Under the blazer I use shirts or blouses, and since it can get quite chilly in the neck/throat area, I tend to use scarves or snoods. Not a bad word about snoods - but they are not excactly elegant are they?
Looking at Chanels RTW Spring Collection 2014 I noticed these thick, wool, chain choker-necklaces, and I realized that these chokers just have to be nice and warm to wear.  Of course, I had to make my own version. I have made them with wool (non-itchy) yarn, and the result is - nice'n warm. No need for snoods every day! And folks; this is EASY TO MAKE. It is just dc's all the way. I will post some guidelines on the page Chrochet Patterns.

I used 3 different kinds of yarn including a thin satin-ribbon. Chrochet needle no. 7.

Yarn; Dale Vipe and Thea Trysil Garn (Europris)

The striped version. I stiched on a part of an old necklace.

National knitting-event

Tonight they are having the national knitting event on one of the Norwegian tv-channels. They are actually showing a programe about knitting for 12 hours - straight.

You just have to be inspired don't you ! So I had to work on some of my knitting projects, trying to finish them as quickly as I can.

This is a scarf I am knitting with soft and delicate cotton thread and thick knitting pins, number 6. It makes the scarf lovely and soft. I thought I would make a snood. Hopefully finished before the end of January when I am in desperate need of something green that reminds me of spring.
By the way; this is some of the easiest thing you can knit. You don't have to worry about following a pattern or anything. It is excellent when you want to watch your favorite programe on tv; you don't have to think, just knit !!

Happy knitting everyone.

Yarn; Sandnes Garn; Mandarin Medi, knitting pins no 6.

Fingerless gloves - in grey

This is the grey gloves I made. I used another thread; Dales Lille Lerke, wich is softer than the thread I used on the white pair.
The pattern you find in the last post or go to page Chrochet patterns. The only difference is that I worked the tr Groups with 3 tr-2ch-3tr.

The decorations;  well what can I say about them? I have not found a good photo of the original so I just made it from what I see and what I can make myself.

Fingerless gloves - Chanel style

Chanels ready-to-wear spring Collection 2014 has some great chrocheted fingerless gloves. You can see them on my Pinterest Board; DIY summer inspiration 2014, or go to www.style.com.
I just had to try and make a pair. It wasn't very difficult at all. It did take some time to make the red and blue ribbons - not mentioning the ones I put in the gloves. I have posted some guidelines in Norwegian. For English guidelines you can go to the page Chrochet patterns.
I have made a pair in grey, and just now I am making a black pair. I will post them as soon as they are ready.

HANSKE
Tråd; Hvit hanske; Dale Vipe, grå hanske Dale Lille lerke
Nål; 3 og 2,5

Venstre hanske
Nål nr 3; Hekle ca. 36 lm og slå sammen til en ring med kj.m.
1. Hekle 1 fm i hver lm, avslutt med 1 kjm i 1.fm.
PRØV RINGEN PÅ HÅNDA DI. Den skal være litt trang å få på seg, men fom omgang nr 3 så vil den vide seg ut.
2. 2lm. Hekle 1 halvst i hver fm. Avslutt med 1 kjm i 2.lm.
3. 3 lm, "hopp over 1 hstv, 2st-1lm-2st i neste hstv, hopp over 1 hstv, 1 st," gjenta " - " omgangen ut. Avslutt med 1 kjm i 3.lm. Grå hanske: 3 lm, "hopp over 2 hstv, 3st-2lm-3st i neste hstv, hopp over 2 hstv, 1 st," brukes i alle omganger der st-gruppene skal hekles.
4. - 8. omgangen;
Som omgang nr 3.
9. 3 lm, "hopp over 2 st, 2st-1lm-2 st i lm, 1lm, 1 st i neste st, 1 lm," gjenta til du har 2 stavgrupper igjen; etter 1 st om st i forrige omgang, hekle ca. 10 lm. Avslutt med 1 kjm i 3. lm.
10. 3 lm, "hopp over 2 st, 2 st-1 lm-2 st om lm, 1 st i neste stav"Gjenta omgangen ut; over de 10 lm hekles også 2 stavgrupper.
11. Som omgang nr 10 bortsett fra dei to siste stavgruppene, hopp over st i midten - dette for å lage hansken mindre.
12. Som omgang nr 10, men på nest siste stavgruppe hekles 2 staver, 2 lm, hopp over 1 st, 1 st i neste st.,hopp over 1 st, 2 st om lm.Avslutt med 1 kjm i 3 lm.

Tommel;

Chrocheted beanie hats

This season is a feast for all those who love the beanie hats. You can wear them outdoors or indoors, for causual wear or when you're dressing up.  The beauty with beanies is also that they are easy to make, either you knit or chrochet them. They can be plain and simple or you can decorate them with whatever you like. I have made simple ones, just making the odd one with stripes.I like to  have different colours to chose from, and I like to use different yarn like thick and chunky, baby wool, mohair yarn, and so on. Just now I am making a selection in pink.

If you don't have a pattern for making one, just Google... there is a lot of patterns out there.

I just found a great tutorial on Youtube for making a slouchy beanie. I must try this.

More hats for Barbie

Still can't help myself when it comes to making hats for Barbie.
