Chunky crochet shopper bag

Inspired by fabulous crochet bags shown in Holzweiler Spring 2020 I had to make my own version. And here it is. I doubled cotton yarn 'cos I didn't have any t-shirt yarn. The pattern is the easiest one you can imagine, I just made a giant granny square, without changing colour 😊
I will give you one tip: The handle stretches - so make it short!!

Miu Miu DIY - add collar to dress

In Miu Mius Resort 2020-collection they showed some wonderful dresses with long white collars.
As I know I will not get my hands on one of these - or something like it, I just had to try to make a collar myself. I had just purchased a lovely summer dress at Lindex whom is just perfect for the task.
I was a little skeptic starting, cos my sewing, especially with the sewingmachine, hasn't always ended in a good way.
But as it turns out, I am really happy about the result.

I started by making a pattern

As it is a large collar, it was quite easy to make

The collar is attached to the edge of the dress

And finally shoes - the Miu Miu way..with socks😄

Tartan bucket hat

I am loving the bucket hats 💓 As it is hard to find nice fabrics in the shops around here, I must think a little out of the box when I go hunting for fabrics for my hats. So the fabric on this bucket hat is made from a mini-skirt 😲 I found on sale.

Why not crochet a headband?

Looking at Pyeong Chang and the Olympic Games I love the Norwegian contestants  headband. So I made one :-) So easy done..why don't you try? Use your own colours if you don't fancy the one I used.
I used cotton yarn to match crohet needle number 5-6.

Inspirations..

I cocheted a beanie hat in white, blue and yellow last spring. But I never was satisfied with it, and I could not figure out what was wrong with it - until I bought myself a new rugsack. Inspired by the digonal squares in yellow and white I stiched some on the yellow part of the hat. I crocheted a black row on the edge. On the top I crocheted a little black circle whom I stiched on. Then I stiched on a few black rows. Now it is ready to use again for autumn, and I am happy with my "new" beanie hat.

The hat before. Something is wrong here, but what???
My new (Axel) rugsack whom I bought in Rhodes in June. I really love this for its colours.Suddenly I realized that my beanie hat had some of the colours of the rugsack - only one colour missing: BLACK

So I started by crocheting a black row on the edge - following by stiching on black and white.

Funny furry handbag

Why not make yourself a funny fur bag? It is easy to make. You can use a sewing machine or just hand-stich. The white part of the eyes is crocheted. The black part is fabric. The chain I took of another pursebag whom I never used. After taking these pictures I have made the bag smaller; about 4-5cm on both sides. I will post photos later.

Crocheted poncho-cape

Preparing for autumn and winter I crocheted this easy cape or ponco(?) You  don't find it much easier than this. I always have something to crochet or knit when  I  watch the telly, travelling by ferry or bus, etc. This has been perfect. No fuzz at all.

I love the red colour

From the back

Here you can see how easy this is. I have no buttons, hooks or anything on it.

I had to crochet a litte bit of pattern - or it would have been a little dull

Maybe I can use it over a coat aswell?

How I worked it:

I used woolyarn Superwash Sport, crochet needle nr 6. Here are som short guidelines to how I made it. (American terms first/uk terms)
I worked 175 ch/ch
1.row: all single crochet/double crochet
2.row: all half double crochet/half treble
3.row; 2 ch +1 ch, "1 hdc in every second hdc, 1 ch,"
4.row: 1 hdc, 1 ch, "1 hdc in next hdc, 1 ch"
I made 4 rows of hdc/htr and 6 rows of the the pattern from 3. and 4.row (little squares)

The gap/hole for the head is about 23 ch/hdc long made over 4 rows.

Crochet collars

Marc Jacobs showed some wonderful crochet collars in the Fall RTW 2016 collection. I have made an easy one. I found the pattern on Drops Design, www.garnstudio.com. It is a red collar for young girl. As it is a pattern for a childs collar, I added about 50 extra ch. It was really easy and good fun.

DIY hat made by faux fur collar

Last winter I bought a couple of faux fur collars to use with my coats. The winter turned out to be milder than usual and I did not get to use the collars as I planned. Then I got the idea that the collars  would be great to use on a hat instead. So this is the result.

I used a Straw boater hat, and I covered it With padding material/fabric. I put padding on the top too, and stiched it together with the padding on the side.

I crocheted a cover and put it over the padding. I stiched the cover to the padding.

Top of crocheted cover.

This is the faux fur collar I used, bought in HM last Winter.

I put the collar around the hat and stiched it to the cover/padding. I used a special needle for this; a curved needle.

Finally I stiched on an edge. I think it's got a 60's vibe to it.
