Olympic beanie hat

Me - and a lot of other Norwegians - love the baby blue beanie hats that the Norwegian team uses in the Olympics in Sochi just now. They are crocheted, and a lot of Norwegians are crocheting away these days. You find them in many knitting/crocheting or craft blogs.  Of course - I just had to try to make one too. So last week I bought yarn and crocheted as fast as I could.

After I had finished the beanie hat - I was really disapointed. I did not like it at all. I did not like the red edge. I also discovered that I shoud have used used half double crochet (hdc) instead of single crochet (sc). So it looked nothing like the original beanie hats. I don't like to waste time on making things that I don't like, so I had to try to do some changes, hoping I could make it into something I actually would wear.

I tried different things. This is one attempt - that actually took me hours to make - but, No I
didn't like this eather.

Finally I had a winner!

Using some old jewellery - I stiched on - I finally have an Olympic beanie I like.

Crocheted box-covers

This is two box-covers I have crocheted. The pattern for the smallest one you can find on the page Crochet patterns. This is really easy to make.

Nice boxes for my bathroom. In one box I have nail-polish and in the other Q-tips.

I made the little handle by crocheting 11 ch (luftmasker), working 4 rows of dc (fastmasker) and crocheting it together. Then I stiched the handle to the lid.

I had thrown away the lid that belongs to the largest box. But it doesn't matter, I don't think it shows that it is just
a crocheted cover on top and not the plastic lid.

I have glued the cover to the lid, so that it stays on.
